Our building provides us with a physical location from which we carry out the mission that Jesus gave to his church. Having a building provides us with a place to worship every Sunday, and a home base to reach out into the community through our education program and special events such as VBS. As good stewards of this gift, it is important that we physically maintain the building. As you can see, the roof on Faith Reformed Church is starting to show it's age. So far we have seen no damage to the inside of the building, but the deacons have determined that now is the time to begin planning for the replacement of the roof before it deteriorates further.
Current Situation
 The current roof over the sanctuary and education wing are over 20 year old, and damage is visible at a number of locations. In addition to the roof deterioration, the bell tower has been a continued source of water leaking into the building. We have tried many different repairs and none have provided a permanent solution. The roof over the parsonage is in need of replacement as well.
Cost of Replacement
 We've sought 4 bids for the replacement of the roofs over the sanctuary, education wing, parsonage, and removal of the bell tower. All of the bids were within $2,000 dollars of each other. The total needed to complete these projects is $50,000. While we have approximately $28,000 in the Capital Improvement fund, the deacons are uncomfortable depleting our reserves any further.
We Need Your Help
We are asking for your prayer and participation in raising the entire $50,000 dollars before we begin the project. We would like to have the funds raised by fall 2011 or spring 2012 so that the roof can be replaced in a timely manner, preventing any damage to the church facilities.
A number of members have already responded with generous donations as you can see on the gauge. We'll be updating this gauge as new donations come in so you can follow the progress towards our goal.
